EXPERT REVIEW
Re: T-Mobile & Sprint users
Date: May 23, 2008
"America First would love to provide this application to as many members as possible. Unfortunately the decision on which carriers will provide the service does not reside with America First and the only carriers that have been willing to provide the application so far are AT&T and Verizon Wireless. We are continually working with additional carriers including T-Mobile and Sprint and hopefully they will want to offer this application to their customers in the future. We will continue to post updates as we approve more devices and carriers. Thanks for all your feedback and reviews of this new product."

Needs Tweaking
Date: August 26, 2008
"While easy to log on with my Verizon phone, it lacks the usability that I had with the previous product. I am unable to go back more than the 5 latest transactions so I cannot check on the important bills I need to verify. Can you fix this or give us back the previous product?"

"AFCU has been one of the better choices I have made in my life. I have been very happy with everying. I am however not as satisfied with the new Mobile Banking as I would expect to be. I used to be able to access my account on my phone by entering "wireless.americafirst.com" It was more functional. I am happy I have Verizon Wireless so I can have some access to my account and services. On the negative side you cannot transfer funds to a different member account. You can only transfer funds within one account number. When viewing recent transactions, it only displays the last 5 transactions so I cannot even see all the transaction I made in one day a majority of the time. I would like the Mobile Banking to have the same functionality as I previously had from my phone. I was surprised to find the limitations. I hope these things can be corrected in future versions. Hopefully soon."

"Yes its convenient, but doesn't let me do all I need to do. I would like to see more than my last 4 transactions. I found that the mobile site worked a lot better. Luckily my phone lets me use the actual website, only problem there is since the mobile website went down the regular site has been going down more frequently. I will likely go back to using my previous CU as my main source."

Disappointed in the change
Date: August 10, 2008
"A few years ago, any provider could access America First on their mobile web by going to AmericaFirst.com... Now, only ATT and Verizon can do it? I was very disappointed to discover the change.. the mobile banking used to be one of my favorite things about America First. But now, I can't access it on my mobile because I have Cricket.."

"It totally works on my T-Mobile cell and I love it. It only says Sprint and AT&T but still works for my cell.
Onlything I dont like is when they update the thing at the same time I need to check my account."

Not Happy!
Date: July 30, 2008
"This is the first thing that I haven't liked about AFCU. My old bank has a mobile website that allows any cell provider. I would hope that AFCU would change how they do mobile banking so that it would allow any of their members to access it. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING!"

"I love the ease of using Mobile Banking. I love that I can check my balance and make transfers very easily! The part that is frustating to me is that it only shows five transactions in the history, and they are not in the same order as they posted to my account. If I pull my account up online, they are in a different order. I wish I could view more of a history and I wish that they appeared in the same order as they posted to my account. I do enjoy using Mobile Banking, I had it on my phone and then I got a new phone and it was not available. I was very disappointed. But within a couple of weeks, it was available on my new phone as well. Great job adding new phones quickly!!"

Mobile Banking takes 1 step forward, 2 steps back
Date: July 21, 2008
"Those that have access to the new mobile banking application are probably enjoying better mobile banking features.
However, this comes at the cost of alienating those customers that do not have a phone carrier "compatible" with the "new system". It is frustrating that someone at AFCU, upon understanding and evaluating this restriction, still decided it best to shut down the wireless.americafirst.com mobile banking application.
I have been an extremely loyal and often praiseworthy customer since 1994. This is the first experience I have had where I felt AFCU has made a really big mistake."

Bring back old mobile banking
Date: July 15, 2008
"I'm frustrated that I can't use the old mobile banking on my Sprint telephone. I travel a lot an enjoyed being able to do banking without a laptop. Is there any way to support the old and new version until Sprint works?"

What happened to wireless.americafirst.com
Date: July 12, 2008
"I'm very grumpy about this system being "turned off". AFCU's wireless banking option was a driving factor in moving our business to AFCU. It worked excellent with my Treo 700p. As I am a Sprint customer, this allowed me the functionality without the having to download an "unsupported" application. Please bring it back as soon as possible."

Response from America First:
ByE-Services Department,
July 15, 2008
We regret that our old wireless banking system (wireless.americafirst.com) is no longer in service. We are working on a replacement as we understand it's importance to our members. In the mean time, America First offers Speech Access for accessing account information through your mobile phone. Dial 1-800-999-3961 to use Speech Access or to contact us regarding questions or concerns. Thank You - America First

This isn't accessible to all
Date: July 11, 2008
"My husband and I used the mobile banking daily, but now we can't. We use a phone provider that is not compatible with the new mobile banking. I wish the other mobile banking had not been pulled off until this newer one was accessible to more members. I am aware that I can call the phone service but that takes more time and is much less convienient. I hope the CU works quickly to add more phone providers to their service so that we may continue to enjoy our membership with AFCU!"

Why get rid of the old mobile banking?!?!?!
Date: July 5, 2008
"I used to use wireless.americafirst.com. This worked with my palm phone and most likely worked with all wireless devices with a browser. Now I don't have any mobile banking which I enjoy immensely. One of the big reasons I liked AFCU so much was I had mobile banking which most banks didn't provide. Now that AFCU has "upgraded" this produce...I don't have it anymore! Why eliminate this execellent portal? ~Pat"

"I love the ease of using the online banking. What use to take me about an hour to do I can do in about half that time. I like the fact that I choose when the payment is sent. Thus my bills get paid on their due date, so the utilities are not earning interest on my money I am."

Frustrating system glitches
Date: June 20, 2008
"The AFCU online banking system is great and I would recommend it to everyone but there is one frustrating glitch that other customers have pointed out. When you make debit/visa card purchases and you want to avoid an overdraft so you log into the site and transfer money from one account to checking to cover, many times the visa transaction will post before my transfer and cause an overdraft fee. I will never pay these fees so I call and AFCU gives me a credit."
