Proprietary, phone specific is not the future Date: October 19, 2008
"Proprietary applications that are phone/carrier specific are not the way of the future. As phones become the mobile platform, the web is the way people will view their banking information. Providing a standard view across the board for mobile phone users is a must. Any phone with a browser (which some might call a "smart phone" but is the way forward) should be able to access their banking information. If America First chooses not to adopt standards and move forward with mobile banking technology for ALL PLATFORMS by using truly standard technology (XML, SVG; not Flash, not Microsoft only) they will see their customers vanish as we progress towards a mobile future. Don't be left behind because you refuse to develop standards based web applications."

"Overall this product has worked very well for me once I was able to get it loaded on my phone. I had a number of problems initially which were frustrating. I found my self wondering why the old mobile site was shut down.
I like having the ability to do online funtions and not have to use speech acess with my kids around.
It would be helpful however to be able to transfer funds to another members account or have access to more than one account on my phone.

Bring back mobile web access Date: September 17, 2008
"When I first saw a commercial for the mobile web banking, I was ecstatic. Speech access became impossible to use after I had my daughter. I loved the convenience! It was very close to accessing my bank from my PC. One day it was not accessible and I called customer service to see what the problem was. He said the only way to use it now was with an application I needed to download to my phone. Cool. Ok. I have AT&T. No problem, right? Wrong! It is so not the same! I can only view 5 transactions and not necessarily in order of the most recent! You can't just view the open screen to get a quick glance at your balance because it shows the balance from the last time you opened it all the way to see your transactions. It is slow and gives you a false sense of security. That's not what I'm looking for when it comes to my money!"

Love the new look and functionality of mobile Date: September 17, 2008
"I've been using the new mobile banking app since you released it earlier this year. I have to say that the new look and functionality from the upgrade today makes it easier to manage my accounts over the phone. Paying Bills is easier, and now that I can get more than 5 transactions in my account history, I'm going to be using my phone far more than my PC to check my account. Thank you for listening to us and giving us some of the upgrades we've asked for!"

bring back the old mobile banking Date: September 12, 2008
"My husband and I frequently used your old mobile banking and have found that the discountining of that has made things extremly inconvienent! We are on the go a lot and use our smartphone's for everything (email, banking, etc.). In order to get any information on the go we now have to use speech access, have you ever tried to use speech access with kids in the car!! It doesn't work. We use Sprint (and can't switch our business phones over, over 6 phones). we would love to see the old service brought back at least until you can ad other providers.
Thank you, Natalie

"AFCU has been one of the better choices I have made in my life. I have been very happy with everying. I am however not as satisfied with the new Mobile Banking as I would expect to be. I used to be able to access my account on my phone by entering "wireless.americafirst.com" It was more functional. I am happy I have Verizon Wireless so I can have some access to my account and services.
On the negative side you cannot transfer funds to a different member account. You can only transfer funds within one account number. When viewing recent transactions, it only displays the last 5 transactions so I cannot even see all the transaction I made in one day a majority of the time. I would like the Mobile Banking to have the same functionality as I previously had from my phone. I was surprised to find the limitations. I hope these things can be corrected in future versions. Hopefully soon.

"Yes its convenient, but doesn't let me do all I need to do. I would like to see more than my last 4 transactions. I found that the mobile site worked a lot better. Luckily my phone lets me use the actual website, only problem there is since the mobile website went down the regular site has been going down more frequently. I will likely go back to using my previous CU as my main source."

Disappointed in the change Date: August 10, 2008
"A few years ago, any provider could access America First on their mobile web by going to AmericaFirst.com... Now, only ATT and Verizon can do it? I was very disappointed to discover the change.. the mobile banking used to be one of my favorite things about America First. But now, I can't access it on my mobile because I have Cricket.."

"This is the first thing that I haven't liked about AFCU. My old bank has a mobile website that allows any cell provider. I would hope that AFCU would change how they do mobile banking so that it would allow any of their members to access it. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING!"

"I love the ease of using Mobile Banking. I love that I can check my balance and make transfers very easily! The part that is frustating to me is that it only shows five transactions in the history, and they are not in the same order as they posted to my account. If I pull my account up online, they are in a different order. I wish I could view more of a history and I wish that they appeared in the same order as they posted to my account.
I do enjoy using Mobile Banking, I had it on my phone and then I got a new phone and it was not available. I was very disappointed. But within a couple of weeks, it was available on my new phone as well. Great job adding new phones quickly!!

Mobile Banking takes 1 step forward, 2 steps back Date: July 21, 2008
"Those that have access to the new mobile banking application are probably enjoying better mobile banking features.

However, this comes at the cost of alienating those customers that do not have a phone carrier "compatible" with the "new system". It is frustrating that someone at AFCU, upon understanding and evaluating this restriction, still decided it best to shut down the wireless.americafirst.com mobile banking application.

I have been an extremely loyal and often praiseworthy customer since 1994. This is the first experience I have had where I felt AFCU has made a really big mistake.

What happened to wireless.americafirst.com Date: July 12, 2008
"I'm very grumpy about this system being "turned off". AFCU's wireless banking option was a driving factor in moving our business to AFCU. It worked excellent with my Treo 700p. As I am a Sprint customer, this allowed me the functionality without the having to download an "unsupported" application. Please bring it back as soon as possible."

Response from America First: By E-Services Department, July 15, 2008
We regret that our old wireless banking system (wireless.americafirst.com) is no longer in service. We are working on a replacement as we understand it's importance to our members. In the mean time, America First offers Speech Access for accessing account information through your mobile phone. Dial 1-800-999-3961 to use Speech Access or to contact us regarding questions or concerns.
Thank You - America First

This isn't accessible to all Date: July 11, 2008
"My husband and I used the mobile banking daily, but now we can't. We use a phone provider that is not compatible with the new mobile banking. I wish the other mobile banking had not been pulled off until this newer one was accessible to more members. I am aware that I can call the phone service but that takes more time and is much less convienient. I hope the CU works quickly to add more phone providers to their service so that we may continue to enjoy our membership with AFCU!"
