"The Dedicate Savings is the best account ever!!! My husband and I have a hard time putting money away. These accounts allow us to setup automatic transfers that come out each payday - BEFORE we even look at the deposit. It makes it very painless! We use them to save for Christmas, vacations, car registration, house projects, state exams, etc. What an awesome product!!!"

"I have no discipline when it comes to saving money. The dedicated savings account helps me out. I do an automatic withdrawl on a small amount that i know i can stick to, and deposite any extra amount when i feel comfortable doing so. I just wish i could make the deposites online through web access, rather than having to call. Either way i still recommend opening one."

"I have had a dedicated savings plan for several years now and absolutely love it. I can make a simple phone call to member services and they can transfer the payment in less than 5 minutes. Or you can walk into the bank (some banks let you do it at the drive-thu) and transfer the money. Or you can opt to have money automatically transfered into the account. I do wish I could transfer money via online, that would save a little bit of time and hassle. Other than that, it has been a wonderful way to save money and keep it saved."

"I love the convenience of this, and I don't even notice the transfer of funds - which is good since I wouldn't be disciplined enough to make the transfer every pay day. However, I would agree with others ... it would be nice to be able to add more when I want to - online and electronically - after all I can transfer funds around in all my other accounts extremely easily."

"I really love these accounts. I have had nothing but good experiences with these accounts and plan to open one every six months with the full maturity. I do have one small complaint: I don't like having to email a request to Customer Support to have the $$ withdrawn from a checking or traditional savings account and then deposited into these Dedicated Savings accounts. These accounts are convenient, hassle-free, and I can't believe the rates for the long-term accounts."

"I am addicted to Ded Savings program at AFCU, I have not found another institution that has this option. I have one for each of my kids, one set up to mature every 6 months for insurance premiums, Christmas etc etc. I live out of state and the E services dept always gets my request done by that afternopn. You can't trn money online to them, but you can always email a request and they will help you with what you need. (Or call Mbr srvcs). I pretty much do everything online to open, trn etc and have been very happy. Totally reccomend this to anyone who wants to save some dough."

One minor draw back

"I love my dedicated savings and being able to set up an autmatic withdrawal from another account each month. However, I don't understand why they don't set it up so you can add money to the account on-line. For example, if I get a bonus from work and want to add some additional money to my dedicated savings, I have to go into a branch, wait in line, and sometimes even have to explain to the employee that it is okay to make a one-time deposit to that account before it matures. It would be a lot nicer if I could just hop on-line and transfer money from one of my other accounts to my dedicated savings. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, I am happy with the account."

"I use dedicated savings accounts to help me save for things I know are coming and I know are going to take a dent out of my savings, such as Christmas. By putting a little in each month and then having it mature right before I would start my Christmas shopping, I have all that freed up money and it makes budgeting what I spend easy, I only spend the amount I had in that dedicated savings account."

"We have 4 dedicated savings accounts, one matures each quarter. If we need to make a major purchase, pay taxes or insurance we know that a nice chunk of money is at most only 90 days away. We get a better rate than in our regular savings account and we can roll over the amount to keep accumulating, if we don't need the money when it matures. I love the 10 day window at maturity, I can easily find time to visit our branch during the window and withdraw money etc. Also it cuts down on impulse purchases because if we want to withdraw the money we have to wait until maturity, it gives us time to think about our purchases and make sure it is the best choice. It took me maybe 10 minutes to open the accounts."

"This is an easy way to make that little bit more on money you are already saving. I have it automatically withrawn from checking into a dedicated savings account making it very convenient and easy for me. I can sit back and make more interest and have no additional headache. I would highly recommend to anyone to get a dedicated savings account and enjoy earning more!!!"

"One of the reasons we joined America First years ago is because they consistently have some of the best rate on their savings products and this account was no different. I check with several other institutions, including online banks, and good old AFCU was still the best. Also, with the ability to transfer money periodically I wonder less about where all my money is going."
